Collaborating with GEGIS
|
While GEGIS does conceptualise, design and conduct research internally, a key aspect of GEGIS’ mission is to collaborate with research partners. GEGIS is open to varying configurations of collaboration depending on the project and the collaborators.
Who is our audience?
Trainees and consultant clinicians with ideas for and interest in general or gastrointestinal surgery research. Especially those who may be lacking in necessary support or resources to fulfil their research project objectives. Research groups involved in general or gastrointestinal surgery research needing particular skills sets to advance their research.
Who can we help?
|
Through offering guidance, support and mentorship to clinicians seeking to undertake research in general or gastrointestinal surgery. Including those seeking to pursue high level degrees. By ‘ware-housing’ valuable research skills in areas such as biostatistics, meta-analyses, machine learning and large-scale collaborative research, GEGIS offers ‘capability bricks’ that can augment the research of our collaborators.
Information for non-clinicians
The GEGIS group is committed to performing high quality research with focuses on the potential to improve clinical practice and patient outcomes. Our group has clinical expertise in gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, with access to clinical registries and data, as well as basic science data and samples.
We are proud to collaborate with both clinical and non-clinical researchers, and have projects that cover a broad range of gastrointestinal diseases. Our projects have a wide scope of study design, including systemic reviews and meta-analyses, clinical trials, cohort studies and basic science studies, and utilise various data analysis techniques including biostatistics, bioinformatics and machine learning.
We strongly support the supervision of undergraduate and post-graduate students, research fellows and scientists from diverse fields, including medical, biomedical, allied health and data science. If you have a current research project or research idea, we also offer support across all research aspects including study design, database design, data collection and analysis, and manuscript writing.
